I wasn't convinced when I first saw this lot on MTV, I was put off by the singer a bit. But the more I hear their stuff the more it is growing on me. I know many of you are more inclined towards much heavier music and as a goth girl my favourte kind is the more brutal goth music of Christian Death, but I am still attracted to the dark beauty and melancholia which is a traditional goth music trait. And I am hearing this in their music. I was also unaware until recently that HIM have been going for quite a while, I thought they were some new-fangled, psuedo-goth, art-student oh-so-misunderstood, insincere nonsense, because I was a little put off by the singer, but I'm changing my mind. Any thoughts on them?

I Quite Like HIM, They Are Generally Getting Known As "Love-Metal" From The Name of One of Their Albums, And Also - Hence The Heartagram Logo. They Have Been Around A While, I Believe They Are 3 Albums Into Their Career. And Your Not The First Helen, Almost Everyone I Speak To Never Liked Their Music At First, I Suppose It Takes A Few Listens To Appreciate Their Talent. Also Bam Margera From Jackass and Viva La Bam, Does A Great Job At Directing The HIM Videos. The Antichrist [glow=red,2,300]Victor over God and Nothingness...[/glow]

I'm sure Ville would agree with you Andy! That's kind of what I found unappealing about him (- and consequently HIM ... ). He appeared to me at first to be some Marc Bolan obsessed wannabe goth, but I'm starting to see more in it all. I have to salute his gracefulness. It's hard for a guy to look 'beautiful' without looking like a prat or a sissy. This is why so many gothic men look really silly. But he does it quite well. (The masters are Jonny Depp and Adam Ant - before he lost it and started looking like Richard Attenbourgh). It's not something everyone can (or should try) to pull off successfully. Anyway, Dani, it's interesting to know that my reaction was a common one. I've heard Razorblade Romance is the album to get. What do you think?

Razorblade Romance Is A Great Album Helen, Particulary The Song "Sigillum Diaboli" Their 1997 Album Entitled "Greatest Lovesongs Vol. 666" Is A Very Good One Also - And On That Album I Recommend The Song "Your Sweet Six Six Six" The Antichrist [glow=red,2,300]Victor over God and Nothingness...[/glow]
