Dear all, Indulge me to brag. I am now a Master of Anthropology. My poledancing project has earned me academic status. I want a job now and am leaning toward librarianship, starting up teaching my own bellydancing classes, and (maybe), putting together a burlesque act for next autumn.
I'll be moving to Edinburgh by the end of this month (we've just bought a place with a big turret on it - dream come true), and then I can get on with all that I want to do.
The Faustian pact is working in my favour for a change. Let's hope it lasts.
Yo Stu, are you a doctor yet? H.

Wow that sounds great Helen. Many many congratulations. I'll be expecting my invite to spend the night in a draughty turret in the post soon then. ;D
Of all the silliest places for me NOT to have posted my recent news. Yes I passed my viva last Monday and I have 6 months to make corrections and submit the final thesis for my shiny certificate and floppy hat ceremony.
I've been very busy lately what with the frantic final touches to my 1st submission and with my job. This week I've had 2 interviews and I'm very well placed for both jobs. Both will take my career in different directions so I'm approaching a nexus that will take some pondering. A real sliding doors moment.
Anyway enough hijacking of your thread. Congratulations Helen you deserve the best and no doubt you'll achieve it all.

I'm genuinely touched by that Stu, cheers. Thank you, too, Psiangel. My god Ellaway, what was the viva like? That's a big challenge isn't it. Sincerely all the best with the job business. I have all that to look forward to. No doubt the Faustian pact will bite me on the butt sooner or later. Or maybe not.
As for my new house, if all goes well I should be well settled by January. I'll keep you posted Stu. After that I'll be receiving guests on a regular basis because I'm not keen on leaving it often.
Because the contract isn't final yet, I'm still worried at the prospect of the sale falling through. It's always a possibility. Oh well, fingers crossed.
