Yeah Congrats Chris... Amazing achievement.. Inspirational...
More so that I didn't find out about it here, or one of the above sites, but in a Mirror somone left in the canteen at work....Which means you made even the tabloids, and even they didn't dare report it in too derogatory a way!

Best yet if you do a google search for Chris Cranmer at the moment you get a huge list of similar reports. A good number of which are in a foreign language.
One of the reports (from the Scotsman) I believe even mentions SotOS.

Yeah great news. Although in The Mail it said that Chris said he was a Magistrate and Black guard with SOTOS, I thought he left

There's something really comedic about that, no disrespect intended to our former demon jock. I don't know what it is. Maybe it is the idea of Chris on a boat on a choppy sea trying to stop his candles falling over. I guess it is a good sign of the times that they don't throw him overboard for this, and, instead, welcome it. I have a feeling he rather loved his time in the spotlight. But in my view, we owe him our deepest and most sincere respect, not for being recognised as a Satanist, uplifting as that is, but for 'shocking' Ann Widdecomb. Go Chris!

He was never a member of the CoS, was he?

I had a look and I'm afraid I can't read that. It's just him and that Edwards guy bitching again and I can't bring myself to look any closer. I hate those long posts in which people nitpick each other sentence by sentence. "Yah-boo, I'm more pedantic than you nah- nah!" That board is full of that and as a result I can't be arsed getting involved.
Chris has my attention way sooner than Edwards though. Edwards seems like a whiney little bitch by the sounds of it.
As a result of my aversion to that board I'm no more enlightened as to whether he's joined the CoS or not. If he has I'm a little surprised. After his promotion of social satanism and a general impression I got of him, it doesn't sound right. I'm sure he has his reasons, and I'm sure I'll get to know them. We'll be living in the same city soon. Can you give me the short version of his stance on the matter? If you've managed to decipher it you are more patient than I am, and respect to you. H.

Well, all I know is what I've gleaned from that thread, so I'm a little hesitant to "gossip" second hand without better sources of info lol.
BTW I totally agree with you on the atmosphere on the main board. I posted on there.. once I think.. got a bunch of sarcastic "we are gonna jump on this person coz we don't know them" type replies, and thought screw it, if they are gonna be like that they prolly aint worth talking to anyways.
Anyways, I'm not sure what happened, as I say, but from the last few posts in that thread, both parties appear to be discussing the comparative merits of the CoS and Edwards's own group, with both making reference to Chris as a new CoS member, and Chris making reference to CoS philosophies and tagwords (eg Alien Elite).
I have no comment to make about this.. really.. and my view holds that Chris has done a marvellous thing for Satanism as a whole, and made an example we can all take into our own lives.
Actually I rather agreed with some of the points he was makign over the importance of such offline actions over simply talking... (I have a small something of my own going on thats been on the back burner for a while, I'll let you know if anything comes of it)
I just don't know what to make of the CoS-talk....
Grr...argh..my taxi is at the door... talk later I hope:)
Good to have you back here Helen, definitely!

It would seem he is a member. I looked on the CoS website and there is a paragraph or two in the news section on the matter. It doesn't name him but by process of elimination... I'd like to know his reasons. I'm not against his actions, I'm just a little surprised. Maybe I read him wrong. Oh well.

Yeah that board needs a shake up. Maybe a council member would actually get off their arse and sort it. Oh wait that would be me. Hehe. Chris has always been a LaVeyan and has always stood up for the late Anton LaVey. His pursuits finally brought him around to the CoS. If thats what makes him happy then I'm happy for him as I'm happy to see all of my friends further their own evolution.

I know Chris was always a LaVeyan, I just wasn't sure if he was pro-CoS. Obviously he is now. A lot of people question just how La Veyan the CoS still is, I thought Chris veered towards that standpoint a few times. I could be wrong. I think some of the CoS disagreed with him over social satanism, I guess that doesn't mean he had problems with the org as a whole. Whatever it was I guess it's not a problem now, if it ever was. I'm certainly not anti-CoS, just had a few negative experiences with some members. Nothing major. But that's the nature of the beast isn't it?

I heard this made it on to the odd one out round on Have I Got News For You! I ended up getting into a discussion about it with some guy at a party at the weekend. He brought it up. At first he appeared to be quite smart. Then he started criticising Satanism, and as I took him apart I discovered he hadn't even read the Satanic Bible. Why don't people research things before talking about them! Don't worry I dealt with it. It turns out he teaches religion to primary school children. I told him that the next time I saw him I wanted him to have read the SB and that I would test him on it with a short pop-quiz. Maybe he'll be converted and that will be fun to see him reconcile his conversion with the thing that pays his mortgage! I think he quite liked me too. Maybe the extra temptation will cause some real havoc. Sorry, but it makes me chuckle.
Got an email from Chris, by the way. He's away with the navy again. Then he'll be coming back to Edinburgh for a while, some time next month I think. Then I'll hook up with him. H.
