Wow some great tips on London there.
If you like doughnuts get to Knightsbridge tube station and exit at the Harrods exit. Walk to the other side of harrods and enter the Krispy Kreme take away bar and purchase from Europes 1st Krispy Kreme outlet. I love them so damn much. Mmmmm. Creme filled ones are great.
Ahem anyway then Hyde Park is a short walk/tube ride away so you can sit and eat Krispy Kremes whilst staring out over the Serpentine.
I wan't to go to London now. Shame my interview today is in Leatherhead and not London. Mind you I can only just afford the £5 to Lhead so £13 to London is a bit of a push.
Poverty sucks.

I am your own personal London Satanic tourist board. (I gotta give those Krispy Kremes a shot!) Unfortunately the soonest I'm next in London is Monday evening for a quick visit, otherwise I'd have shown you about. The directions I've given you are the directions of my usual stomping ground when I've time to kill in London. People should probably see things like Buckingham Palace, Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square and all that once in a lifetime but if you only have a short amount of time, fuck all that and do what you want. If you get a bit disorientated, look for your nearest tube station or ask in a nearby shop where it is. You'll recognise them because they pretty much always have the 'underground' sign on them which is a red circle with a horizontal blue line running through it. Very distinctive. Don't be scared of inconveniencing people for directions. ( Especially as a Satanist!) You may get swept away by the British Museum and that's all you end up doing or you may just stay in Camden all day shopping and eating noodles. Either way it's a day well spent.
All the best with your interview Stu. I have all that to look forward to when this MA is done.

Incidentally I 've only just remebered but the Mini A-Z has the best part of the tube map on the back cover so you should only need that.

Well I Made It Back To Good Ol' Wales I Managed To Handle London Quite Well. The Underground Tubes Were A Lot Easier Than I Had Imagined - But Sadly I Didn't Have Enough Time To Do All The Stuff I Wanted To Do So I Just Visited Big Ben, Piccidilly Circus, Buckingham Palace, Highbury (Booooooooooo) And By The Time I'd Seen Them - It Was Time To Get Back To Wales. Which Is A Shame Because I Would Have Liked To Have Seen The Artefacts of The Ancient Egyptian Civilization That Helen Mentioned Was In The Museum. The Closest I Got To Egyptian Artefacts Was Some Hieroglyphics I Seen on A Restaurant Wall! I Should Really Have A Weekend Up There Sometime - One Day Is Just Not Enough So All In All - I Enjoyed My Time In London (Except When A Pigeon Shat In My Big Mac ) Anyway... Thanks For The Help And Advice Everyone! Dani Hail Satan

You should be able to tackle London now all alone with only your interests to guide you. I don't like it much but in fairness to it there is a lot to keep one occupied if you know what you like.

Most people in London have no manners so remember to not take it personally. THAT Was The Most Valuable Bit of Advice I Had - I Almost Lost My Temper A Few Times With The People Up There. Dani Hail Satan

I'm going tomorrow for a few days to interview my friend for my MA and spend a bit of time with Rick. But I'm not looking forward to going there. The main reason is because of the people. I ended up yelling at this woman on the tube because she was pushing quite roughly past a woman who was trying to get one child on the train while battling with a pram and a baby. It was funny because I don't think she was expecting anyone to kick off and I went ballistic and she scuttled away. But I don't recommend getting into arguments in London because most of the time it gets you nowhere because people just walk off before you've had the chance to finish what you have to say, and most of the time it's a waste of time because some actions I would consider rude are just the norm in London. The majority of Londoners strike me as being permanently fed up. But it's funny because I have a tendency to turn into one when I'm there. But I try not to.

The second they heard my Welsh accent, I seemed to be treated as a criminal which must be given as little attention as possible.

London is too piled up for me. I'm not really a people person anyway and everything I dislike about humankind seems to be magnified and exemplified by the crowds that inhabit London. It's dirty, there's no air, there's no space, you pay a fortune for a shoebox to live in. It has its advantages of course but the negatives outweigh the positives for me. I'm just back from London this evening. I managed not to get into any fights and I remained in a reasonably good mood the whole time. But it's nice to be home to space and greenery and breatheable air. Dani, I too am a proud celt but strangely enough I've yet to get a bad reaction for my accent. It's not that strong though. People often ask me where I'm from (including today). I think it's an obvious Northern Ireland accent but some get confused when they hear me. Dunno why. Is your accent quite broad? Or maybe the Welsh are even more frowned upon than the Irish!

My accent is considered pretty strong - and the welsh have had the "sheepshagging" stereotype placed on us.
so i cannot travel out of wales without being called a sheepshagger - which i think is pretty pathetic, it's obvious they cannot come up with a reasonable arguement as to why they hate the welsh - so they just shout "SHEEPSHAGGER!!"
