As the new representative for the Society of The Onyx Star, I intend to be at both of the following meetings, but I will definitely be at the Guildford one at least. I'd obviously like to meet as many as possible, so I can teach you all to drink...(!)
Manchester (North) - 17th November.
Guildford (South) - 18th November.
Can't wait to get together with some like minded folks...

Thats under review at the moment. My biggest concern is that those of us going to both meetings will have a mad dash to try to make it from Manchester to Guildford.
I'd like some thoughts please. (The Manchester one will be unchanged.)

That's true Stu. How many people are considering attending both meetings?

Well if I have to fly over I'm not sure if I then want to have to fork out the train fare to Guildford. Maybe I'm wrong in assuming this it's just that the last time I went from London to Manchester by train it was something like £50. And I need a place to stay and drinking money! So I'm not sure if it's wise for me to attempt to go to both. If it works out not too expensive then I might make an attempt at both. I will definitely go to the meeting that most people are going to attend. So it would be nice if we could figure out which one that was.

Well it's more likely to be the southern one seeing as Stu knows the Pagan crew etc, that unless the Northerners crawl out of their holes.

What I meant was most people that I know. I'm all for meeting new people but if I go to one of these meetings my main interest is in hooking up with those I've chatted with here. We'll see how it goes. For now I think my best bet is Manchester.

I'll be at both in any event, and if you need a ticket to get to Guildford Helen I'm sure I'll find it in my heart to help. But if there is only going to be one, Guildford is best as I'm in Portsmouth at the moment so getting to Guildford is no hassle whatsoever.
I personally intend to find digs for the night at Manchester, then travel down in the morning. Stu, did you say about the Ibis hotel in Manchester or was it Guildford? Either way, I'll sort something out but anyone who needs somewhere to kip for a night is welcome to stay with me and travel in the morning. Obviously this is aimed at those who have needed to travel for a bit.
So what's happening folks?

Dani if you are going to Guildford I will go to Guildford too, perhaps insted of Manchester. Chris that's so nice of you to offer to help me out with the ticket but I must confess that it isn't because I am poor but because I am a tight fisted and stingey cow. I'd rather have one good night where I splash out than two where I hold back and I'm also very spoiled so I like to have my own room which makes the trip more pricey. And I need to get someone to watch my kittens. Maybe I can talk myself round but I'd feel better going to one. Yes all my worst qualities are now on display.

I just did a bit of checking and a train from Guildford to Manchester and back is going to cost around £60 and will entail a 4 hour train journey. This means leaving at 7am to arrive before midday.
After getting extremely drunk in Manchester that trip probably wont be fun, and while reiki can get rid of most hangover symptoms I can't use reiki on myself on a train.
So what I'm considering now is remaining here in Guildford. Chris if you attend both meetings would you consider acting as a secretary and report on the Manchester meeting for us. That way we can co-ordinate what we talk about in the south etc.

Of course. My one concern though is that no one will go to the Manchester one, as it seems to be dying a death. I'd hate to be ready to write and have nothing to write about. Although I can afford to go, I don't like the idea of wasting money going all the way up there for little reason - especially when I can get absolutely shedded in Guildford and stay the night there. AFTER the meeting of course... What I'd really like is to know who's planning to come to Manchester besides me and Andy, so we can decide whether or not to drop it. It would save time and money in truth, and everyone seems happier going to Guildford. So what of it? Should we drop the two ickle ones, and go for a big one? It seems the likely option at the moment... Dani, I like the idea of going to Cardiff. Obviously it won't be this month, but I'll definitely go the month after depending on who else would like to attend. The South of England is perhaps the most convenient place to hold meetings, but a change of scene would be great regardless of timing. Shame Edinburgh is a bit far away... Oh and Helen, I nearly forgot - did you read that cats make women horny? Any truth in that?...

This is really starting to piss me off. I've tried to arrange a few meetings and none have happened. I understand you guys dont want to come if theres no one coming but how about the rest of you northerners get off your f**king arses and make an effort, like others here do.

OK I apologise for that little outburst. I just find it very frustrating. Anyway here's my list of people who are possibly coming.....
Me, Rosie, Stu (vocalist from my band), my friends brother Nate (?,pagan), Ross (?,from work), Helen (?), Stu (?), Chris (?) and Travis (?).
